About

Terminal extends Stripe to in-person payments through pre-certified card readers or tap-to-pay on phones.^[1] It combines per-charge processing fees with one-off reader prices and an optional monthly fee per reader for cellular connectivity.^[1] In Finland in-person charges cost 1.4% + €0.10 on EEA cards and 2.9% + €0.10 on other cards, with readers from €59 to €259 and cellular at €9 per reader a month.^[1] In the US the rate is 2.7% + $0.05, readers run from $59 to $329, and cellular costs $10 per reader a month.^[3]
